How to sign up and what you’ll need

You can sign up to Axle at vpp.axle.energy (with the exception of SolaX users, who sign up via the SolaX app). Joining Axle takes a few minutes, and there are two things you'll need:

• A compatible inverter: You’ll need an inverter from one of our supported manufacturers. Currently we support GivEnergy, Sigenergy, Fox ESS, SolaX, Solis and SolarEdge. The battery brand doesn't matter, as long as you have a compatible inverter.

• A smart meter: We use your smart meter readings to measure what your battery exports, so you’ll need a working one. We check this for you during sign-up.

You don’t need an MCS certificate to take part.

Here’s how sign-up works:

• Enter your email: We’ll use this to set up your account and to send you event notifications.

• Upload a recent electricity bill: We use this to pull a few details we need to register you. We don’t store the bill itself. If you have trouble here, see Trouble uploading your bill.

• Connect your battery: This links your battery to Axle so we can support the grid on your behalf. The steps vary slightly by manufacturer, and we walk you through them. If you hit a snag, see Connecting your battery and inverter.

Once you’re set up, there’s nothing more to do. Everything runs automatically, and we’ll email you before and after each event.
