Connecting your battery and inverter
Connecting your battery is done by linking your inverter to Axle so we can support the grid on your behalf. The exact steps depend on your manufacturer. Most connections go through without a hitch, but occasionally there’s issues. Here are the most common connection problems and how to resolve them.
If your issue isn’t listed here, get in touch and we’ll help you get connected.
GivEnergy
No devices found, or the wrong account: This normally means the GivEnergy account you signed in with doesn’t have your battery registered to it, or your browser has carried over a previous incorrect GivEnergy login. Try this on a laptop rather than a phone:
Log in to your GivEnergy account at givenergy.cloud and make sure you can see your device registered in your GivEnergy account.
In a separate window on the same laptop, with GivEnergy still open, continue your Axle sign up.
Follow the connection steps in your Axle sign up to connect your Axle account to the correct GivEnergy account.
If it still picks up the wrong account, try the same steps in a private or incognito window, so no previous login carries over.
SolaX
All SolaX sign ups are completed via the SolaX app, not with Axle directly. Here are some common issues:
I don’t see Axle Energy VPP in the SolaX Cloud app: You may need to update the app. Once it’s updated, if you still don’t see Axle Energy VPP as an option, please contact the SolaX support team for further assistance.
Wi-Fi dongle isn’t compatible: SolaX inverters need a compatible Wi-Fi dongle registered on SolaX Cloud before sign-up. Supported dongle types start with SS, SN, SM, XW or XS. If your dongle’s serial number starts with anything else, for example SV, you’ll need to replace it with a compatible one. SolaX support can advise on the right dongle for your inverter.
For any other SolaX sign up issues, please contact the SolaX support team.
Sigenergy
Invalid System ID error: This usually clears after a couple of tries. Refresh your browser and attempt the connection again two or three times. If it still won’t go through, let us know.
SolarEdge
Not associated to any of our SolarEdge sites: This appears when your login is valid but your SolarEdge account isn’t set as the site owner. On SolarEdge, only the registered site owner can authorise a site to join a programme like Axle’s VPP, and that role is usually assigned by your installer. The fix is to contact your installer and ask to be set as the registered site owner of your site. Once that’s done, retry the connection and it will complete.
